Young Madrileño, Eduardo Rivera has been selected as the only Spanish menswear designer to show at the
prestigious Tranoï shows at Paris Fashion Week. If the collection is received as well by the international press as it has
been in his home country, the breakthrough showing will make Eduardo Rivera the next 'designer to watch'.
Online PR News – 20-January-2010 – With only two collections from his new menswear
line behind him, young Madrileño and fashion designer Eduardo Rivera (Madrid, 1977) has been hailed with positive reviews
and enough coverage in his native Spain from prestigious fashion publications and respected news publications to make any
designer envious. You can see translated articles from Spanish GQ, Esquire and the widely circulated El Mundo and El Pais
at his blog, here: http://www.eduardoriverablog.com/category/press/ . Until now, however, the collection has received little,
if any, international exposure. Next week, the EDUARDO RIVERA collection for men with be showing at Paris Fashion Week
at the prestigious fashion event Tranoï (www.tranoi.com). He will be the only Spanish menswear designer showing his collection
at The Paris Stock Exchange where Tranoï will host 100 collections of ‘avant-garde man’ on 22, 23 and 24 January.
If the collection is received as well by the international press as that in his home country, the breakthrough showing will
surely make Eduardo Rivera the next ‘designer to watch’. Much of the press in Spain has spoken of Eduardo Rivera’s
destiny in fashion, growing up as he did helping his mother’s fashion store, Elisa de Rivera, a Madrid fashion institution.
Eduardo initially began a career in the finance market. It wasn’t until 2002 that he returned to Spain to work with
his mother, together with whom he launched ladies brand ENE DE RIVERA, now for sale in over 15 countries, with permanent showrooms
in Madrid, London and Moscow. His beginning in Finance is evident in Eduardo’s commercial focus on delivering quality
clothing that is fashionable but also delivers value to the client through quality tailoring and material and with practical
and wearable designs. What really inspired Eduardo to return to his fashion roots, however, was his ambition to create
a men’s brand. He enrolled at Central St Martin’s in London, learning the art of tailoring and, working with his
mother on the ENE de RIVERA collection, refined his skill and eye as a tailor. After the lessons, hard work and success of
ENE de RIVERA, Eduardo Rivera stepped out on his own to realize his ambition. "The market lacked a young, tailored, comfortable
and elegant brand" - says the designer. The first two EDUARDO RIVERA menswear collections are selling well, having acquired
distribution in the best fashion boutiques in Spain. This local success and recognition looks set to expand to the international
market with the young designers participation in Tranoï.
