The Institute of Physics and Power Engineering (IPPE)
is located in Obninsk,
Kaluga region, 107 km to the South-West from Moscow on the picturesque bank of the Protva-river, of the Oka tributary.
The
town, construction of which was related to the commissioning of the world's First nuclear power plant, is at present one of
the largest scientific centre involved in comprehencive study of nuclear power utilization. High scientific potential and
technical feasibilities of the IPPE and other 12 research and development Institutes of the town offer wide possibilities
to establish scientific relations and cooperation in various directions.
